About

Since 2009, we have been committed to fair climate action. We want to demonstrate that the carbon market can benefit people most vulnerable to the effects of climate change in a fair and effective way. Those with the largest carbon footprint invest in CO₂ reduction projects with a high social impact that meet the requirements of the Gold Standard and/or the Fairtrade Climate Standard.

What we do

Together with our partners we develop cleaner cooking projects. These projects reduce CO₂ emissions, protect trees and improve living conditions in places vulnerable to climate change. Our Gold Standard & Fairtrade Climate Standard certified carbon credits are unique: a fair price is paid to households (mainly women) that are responsible for the achieved CO₂ reduction. Our goal: more than 70% of the revenue goes directly to projects and households. People who have contributed the least to climate change but are most affected by it benefit the most from this.

Who we work with

The companies we work with are pioneers in the field of sustainability. They recognize that reducing their own CO₂ emissions is crucial for the long-term viability of their operations and want to take responsibility for the emissions they cannot yet avoid. By choosing to invest in FairClimateFund’s projects, they not only contribute to reducing global CO₂ emissions but also create significant social impact in the countries most affected by climate change.

What makes FairClimateFund unique

One of a kind

Through our additional Fairtrade certification — the only one of its kind in the world — our projects ensure fair compensation and opportunities for women.

Empowering the most vulnerable

We channel carbon finance directly to the households most affected by climate change, enabling them to access clean cooking solutions that improve health, save time and money, and protect local forests.

Fair by design

Our model ensures that a large share of revenues flows directly to the communities implementing the change — not intermediaries.
