About

FutureCamp, founded in 2001, is a consultancy competent in all aspects of mandatory and voluntary carbon markets as well as national and international climate policies.

In the field of market-based mechanisms our expertise ranges from evaluating your project idea all the way down to the marketing of certificates. We support project design, methodology development, implementation, monitoring and verification of emission reduction projects.

After having mainly been active in the markets of JI, CDM and VER (GS, VCS) in the past, our focus is now on European projects, with the EU Carbon Removal and Carbon Farming Regulation (EU CRCF) being at the heart of our activities in the field of climate projects. Still, we also follow the Paris Agreement Crediting Mechanism (PACM) where this is in our clients’ interest.

Again since 2001 we collaborate in the secretariat of the “Working Group Emissions Trading to Combat Greenhouse Gas Effects” at the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Climate Action, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety, where we actively participate in various sub-working groups. We have excellent knowledge of the regulatory requirements of EU emissions trading and market-based mechanisms and contribute to the design of future climate policy and market instruments.

As such, we are the right partner for the implementation of your climate protection project. We will accompany you with current and future market mechanisms.

Project preparation activities such as feasibility studies, participation in expert groups and analysis of methodologies. Biochar and BioCCS are the most common project types (CDR) we’re working on.

CDM

  • Project development in Cyprus (wind parks), Tunisia (biomass), Georgia (water power), and Israel (programmatic energy efficiency projects, PoA)
  • Methodology development (Reducing CH4 emissions in rice farming; first approved methodology for project type under CDM)

VCM

  • Project development according to Gold Standard (GS) and VCS in Turkey (wind, geothermal power, hydropower, biogas and landfill gas, energy efficiency for industry)
  • Project development according to GS in Ethiopia (cook stoves; afforestation); in Indonesia, Uganda (reforestation) and in Germany under ISO 14064-2 (manure and fermentation residue refinement; soil organic carbon enrichment)

JI

  • Project development and MRV support of around 30 projects and PoAs in Germany, Poland, Lithuania and France (energy efficiency, chemistry and transport) for customers from various industry branches
