MicroEnergy Credits (MEC) is a social enterprise that channels international funding to vulnerable communities, increasing their climate resilience through clean energy, and technology and nature-based solutions. Our programs empower rural and low-income communities, particularly women, to take control of their clean energy future, creating a verifiable impact that builds sustainable, climate-resilient communities. By leveraging technology, innovative finance, and trusted local partnerships, MEC champions high-integrity programs created by community-led climate action. Our clean energy product portfolio includes electric cooking technologies (such as induction cookstoves and electric pressure cookers), solar cookstoves, solar lighting, LED lighting, water purifiers, and improved cookstoves. Our removals pipeline includes biochar, ARR, and blue carbon programs. MEC has a deep background in energy access for development through our work since 2007. To date, our programs have supported over 14 million households in accessing clean energy solutions, impacting more than 65 million people, and reducing over 10 million tonnes of carbon emissions in Asia and Africa. Now expanding into carbon removals and aligning with global climate goals under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, MEC connects local innovation to international climate commitments, thereby accelerating an inclusive and sustainable future for all.
